1st week

It’s the end of my first week at RedKnows and it’s been an eye-opening experience! Let’s dive in…

On my first day, the team greeted me with open arms (and open paws from Deefer the dog), and I couldn’t have felt more welcome. My desk was equipped with top quality tech, all of the RedKnows merch and a lovely card with welcoming messages from the team written inside.

The office was full of fun contraptions like the popcorn machine, beer pong hat and ‘proper’ coffee machine. My line manager Suzie took me for a catch up and introduced me to my ‘LTT’ – Learning, Transition and Take Off plan for my first three months.

The first month largely consists of getting to know the team and their roles within the business, understanding our client base and how we deliver results. It also allows time for training and learning opportunities with online courses and workshops.

The hybrid working model at RedKnows is ideal for personal and professional reasons. Office days allow for effective collaboration time within the team, opportunities to film TikToks and lunch trips out to the wonderful supermarkets of Solihull. Meanwhile, working from home allows me to allocate focus time, work to my own schedule and offer flexibility around my lifestyle.

I’m hugely inspired, optimistic and excited for what’s to come with my RedKnows journey!

2nd week

It’s the end of week two and I’m settling in well to the RedKnows life. I’ve now met all of the dogs (Deefer, Molly and Griff) and dedicated a sufficient amount of time to their cuddles (although there really is no limit to this!) and general fussing.

As part of my LTT, I’ve had various one-to-one sessions with each member of the team to get to know them and their role a lot better. Our founder Neil walked me through the ‘V35’ meeting, which consisted of walking through the goals, culture and pillars of what makes RedKnows unique. Even after two weeks I can see these values in action. One example of this being our annual ‘Summer Celebration’, which is a day and night away dedicated to championing our successes and looking to the opportunities to come in the future.

By this point, I’ve successfully figured out how the coffee machine works, and what on earth chunion is (ask Jordan!).

By this point, I’ve nearly finished working through an SEO course, as well as participating in client work for the first time! This was a little intimidating, however the team were so incredibly supportive, and always made time to help me despite their busy schedules.

End of month 1

It’s been a month? Already??

You know what they say, time flies when you’re having fun…with the office dogs.

It’s been an incredible first month, I’ve learnt loads, my ideas have been fully heard and implemented, and I feel like a valued and respected member of the team. It can be nerve-wracking speaking up in meetings, especially as the ‘new girl’, however the RedKnows team create such a safe and inclusive space that I already feel comfortable enough to make suggestions, and chip in when I can.

And I have my first ever client! This is a huge responsibility, but I’m ready to face the challenge and deliver exceptional results with the help of the team.

As I move into the ‘transition’ month with RedKnows, I’m looking forward to continuing to learn new skills, develop existing ones and working with more and more clients to deliver top notch Recruitment Marketing.
